Shya Scanlon

My semi-autobiographical novel-in-stories (a mouthful, I know) Look No Further combines episodes from my life with fictional accounts of both real and fictional peripheral characters from those episodes. I chose this hybrid form because I wanted to examine issues and anecdotes from my own life without hiding behind a fictional protagonist. While writing these stories, I became interested in some of the supporting characters–whether real or imagined–whose own stories seemed to offer fresh perspective on the themes I was exploring.
