Yo. I’ve mentioned these in a couple of other posts, but what began as a disorganized, under-conceived activity has grown up and become a plan: I’m recording myself reading all 60 poems of my collection, In This Alone Impulse. Each weekday, and maybe sometimes on the weekend, I will be posting a new video on my YouTube channel. If you subscribe to my channel, you’ll be notified each time a new video posts, but I’ll also be posting links on my Facebook wall. So, hey, you’ve got options. Who doesn’t like options?

Much like the poems themselves, the videos vary in tone and presentation–some are pretty comical, others serious, etc. I don’t really know what I’m going to do before starting up iMovie, so it’s all rather spontaneous. Also much like the poems. Anyway, please take a look at them. And if you have any ideas or requests for something I could do (keep in mind, please, that I’m a nevernude), let me know: I’m taking requests.

At long last, In This Alone Impulse is available for pre-order at Noemi’s web site. Please buy a copy for yourself, and one for your favorite fan of “enigmatic” prose poetry!

Another way you can help this book become more accessible is to request that your local library carry it. In New York, this can be done quite easily online here. They ask for some info, including the ISBN (9781934819104), but can just fill in as much as you know. Most of it can be found in the SPD online catalogue. I also inserted that link in the space for “Source of Information.”

It’s easy to do, and quick! Please help make small press poetry available to everyone.

I’ll be reading with two other fine word organizers:

Scott Geiger is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize. He is a contributor to magazines such as The Believer, Conjunctions, and Icon. New fiction written as part of a multidisciplinary design studio called “Landscapes of Quarantine” will appear next March as part of an exhibit at The Storefront of Art and Architecture.

Micaela Morrissette is a senior editor at the literary biannual Conjunctions. Her fiction has appeared there, as well as in the 2009 Pushcart Prize Anthology, the 2008 Best American Fantasy anthology, Weird Tales, and elsewhere. Book reviews and other nonfiction can be found in Rain Taxi, Jacket, and LIT. She lives in Providence, Rhode Island, where she is a graduate student in Brown’s Literary Arts program.
